The Name of Strength

In German, Kraft means strength.  Kraft Foods, the global foods conglomerate, plans to rename itself ‘Mondelez’ at some point next year, after it spins off its grocery foods brands into another company.  Apparently, not strong enough of a name to keep, however.

I don’t know what to make to make of the new name.  It’s a combination of the French word for world, ‘Monde’ and ‘delez,’ apparently an expression for delicious.  Never heard that one, but there’s a lot I haven’t heard about.  But, as the article pointed out, the name change isn’t intuitive.  As to whether or not the new name takes with the public remains to be seen.
