Is there a link between Oprah and former Governor Rod Blagojevich’s (D-IL) impending criminal trial for political corruption? Yes, and an odd one. There’s a certain juror, one on whom both sides can agree, who’s indicated that she’s willing to serve, but that she doesn’t want to miss the Oprah’s last show.
To boot, the judge, rather incredibly, appears willing to entertain the notion so that jurors won’t have to miss Oprah’s finale as a result of jury service. The presiding judge, U.S. District Judge James Zagel, to his credit, did concede that the request does seem a little ‘over the top.’ Indeed.
