Scorched earth

We’ve had a hot summer here in New York.  And we’re not the only ones.  Moscow’s seeing a heat wave, the likes of which haven’t been seen since the early 1970s.  The issue?  Well, Muscovites simply aren’t used to having such high temperatures.  1,720 people have drowned in swimming related accidents in the past two months alone, a number that, surprisingly, is not far off from other years, as there seems to be a direct correlation between drinking and drowning in Russian pools.
