Ruffling feathers in Detroit

I’ve never heard of anything like this before.  Apparently, the first ever Detroit Chicken Race is scheduled for this coming Sunday at 6:30 p.m.  The event’s ostensibly designed to promote awareness of urban farming in Detroit, a concept that’s possible, as the population of the city declined from 1.8 million in the 1950s to less than 900,000 today, leaving a lot of vacant land.

For those of you that remember the Detroit Marathon last year, the event during which three people died, I can only imagine that the poultry will fare significantly worse, as chicken, when properly prepared, is delicious.
